Hello,
I have the SA 8300HD STB and I live in the on-campus apartments at UAlbany.
In the Fall I was unable to tune to 1815 CWHD and the TW tech came out and tried to fix it but couldn't. I pressed TW on the issue and they eventually told me that because UAlbany offers all of the HBOs standard to its students, HBO was using the frequency that the CW was supposed to and the University and TW would have to "negotiate it."
So I basically gave up with that. I still can't tune to 1815 CWHD and I also can't tune to RetroTV 1897 as well as the WTEN Weather Channel in the 500s.
In all of the cases, on page 5 of the diagnostic menu, on the right side under Current QAM it says "Status: Unlocked" in orange letters. According to the tech in the Fall, locked means it is being allowed through and unlocked means its being blocked.
Has anyone else ever seen this before? I was willing to deal with it for one channel but now its 3 channels and I'm sure there are others that I just haven't found yet.
I'm not the most experienced with tv technical things so I was wondering if the explaination the tech gave me even makes sense. Although I can confirm that both HBO and CWHD are trying to use 525.000MHz.
Really any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always.

Add 1837 Discovery HD Theater to that list. As of today it is a black screen like the rest of them and listed as "Unlocked"
I'm starting to feel just as screwed as cable card customers.
Also, who should I call about this? I can't imagine that a regular CSR is going to have a clue what I am talking about. Should I just go to the TW office on Washington Ave and talk to them about it?

Try: Chris Kaling, 242-8800 Ext.3496 He is one of the supervisors of the service technicians. He helped Hurnik & I with our Cable Card issues. He works 2nd shift...something like noon-9PM. Leave a voicemail, he checks it regularly.

Ok now I'm getting it on MSGHD and YESHD is anyone else having these problems? It would be nice to know if it's only me before I call.

This appears to be an issue of "Ingress."
Channel 1815 on cable is on the same frequency as channel 23 (WXXA) over the air. If there happens to be a cable problem, WXXA leaks into the cable and interferes with WCWN-HD. Call Time Warner and have them troubleshoot your cable drop for “ingress”. Ingress can also show up as a vertical bar in analog cable channel 6, (from WRGB-6) wiggly lines on analog Discovery Health/The Golf Channel, (from WMHT-17) and noise on We/Oxygen. (WTEN-DT-26) Yet, these five channels will be clear on a TV that has a digital STB.
