Did TW just switch some more HD channels to SDV?
About 5 minutes ago, all of a sudden A&E HD went gray.
I can no longer watch 1827 (I think thats TNT) A&E and Disc HD on cable card now.

I still get TNT HD, A&E HD, and DISC HD with the cable card in my HD TiVos.

I tried the cable card diagnostics (the screen where you get like 6-7 menu items all starting with SAsomething). It failed every single one of them with an error like:
failed to get \something\somethingmap
I ended up rebooting the Tivo.
Not sure if it's a cable card problem or the Tivo
Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Not sure why it only affected the non-encrypted HD channels (all other encrypted SD channels were fine too).

I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago and had to re-boot the HD TiVo...unplug...wait 20 seconds...plug back in.

Not sure why it only affected the non-encrypted HD channels (all other encrypted SD channels were fine too). This same thing happened to me again last night on only one of my two HD TiVos. I rebooted twice and it still has the problem. Will have to call TWC tonight. I'm guessing they won't be able to do anything over the phone and will have to schedule a sevice call. |

I wonder if the cable card is fritzing out. I haven't gone back in when things are working normal to re-run the diagnostics. I swear it partially freaked out last weekend. I was watching Discover HD Theater and all of a sudden it went "gray". But I could get A&E HD. So when I switched back to HDT, then I could watch it again. Weird.

TWC did schedule a service call. However, over the weekend, the channels suddenly re-appeared. Second time this happened to me.

Just had it happen again tonight too. This time it was even the broadcast basic channels that I could no longer get. Like channel 6. I tuned into it and got a little twirly icon that told me to wait while it was negotiating tuning or something like that. After about 10 seconds it finally came in and then all the others started working. Methinks TW is doing something odd possibly.
