Anyone with Cable CARD notice 480i replaced NTSC?

I called TW recently about an issue I've had with my Cable CARD where a lot of analog channels were no longer showing up. At first, I ignored it because everything that I lost had a digital or HD counterpart anyway but then I lost TBS, then ESPN2, stuff like that.

I started noticing my TV was no longer showing "NTSC" for those channels (on either the low numbers, or the high numbers). If I removed the card I could get the analog channels again, but reinserting and resetting the card I got the same issue.

They solved it for me by doing something on their end, but now that it's working the channels are now actually still "480i" so they are actually finally overlapping the analog channels with digital versions now it looks like.

Not sure if anyone noticed this (since the boxes probably don't tell you) or if anyone with Cable CARD had the same issues I did but I thought I'd share... I didn't see it mentioned on here yet.

Yes, they are simulcasting digital. Read this thread:

The TWC headend can provision your CC for analog/digital or digital only. In your case what they did is provision it for digital only.

Do you have a Sony DVR? I would like to know if you still receive the tv guide data which is transmitted via analog channel 11?

I don't have a Sony DVR. I have a Sony TV but it doesn't support the guide data unfortunately, just the XDS data on an individual channel which I'm going to assume will stop working now as well since they don't work on the 480i digital channels, only the NTSC ones and OTA HD.

As of 2pm today, all the digital simulcast channels in the basic/standard tier are gone. They are all back to analog.

So the channel XDS info should be back now.

I noticed that... I think I'd rather have the digital version, was it just "testing"?? Either way, it did have a nasty side effect on my TwinView since the Sony can only show 1 digital source--the right side has to be analog. I can live with it either way I guess since neither is perfect.

Also, any idea where "27.5" came from OTA? All of a sudden I get it, labelled "East" and it's just the same as 23.1 as far as I can tell... weird. I didn't expect 27 since it's on VHF-7 I believe.
