I called TWC to see how much cheaper it would be to ditch my 8300HD DVR and go with a Cable Card for my new Sony DHG-HDD500 DVR.
Here's the charges on my latest bill:

So, I asked to remove the DVR and add a Cable Card, keeping HBO & HD Tier. I thought they would remove:

+add $1.75 for the Cable Card.
...and my total should go down to $100.35, right? WRONG! The TWC rep told me my new bill would be $115.83, which is a saving of only $6.12 a month.
When I asked why this was, she responded that since I didn't get have a digital converter box, I did not qualify for the "Digi-Pic" package and I lost the $16.20 package discount.
So, I told her to add a regular cable box (so I would qualify for the "Digi-Pic") to the cable card package, and she said my bill would be $116.75, which is a savings of only $5.20.
Time Warner has us bent over and is giving it to us up the Hershey Highway. Can't wait for Verizon to come to town to provide some competition. Verizon will be in Guilderland soon. Here's a link to that thread.
