Like i said before the service has flaws its not perfect. Its definately no TiVo. I agree with that but, most people don't want to spend the money to buy TiVo's equipment then pay for a subscription to there service, and be in a contract with them for 1,2,3 years. Little annoyances like "Daylight savings" shouldn't be an issue. On the other hand its really not that big of a deal. I have 2 dvrs with multiple scheduled recordings between 2 boxes i have 32-33 shows. To go back in and schedule the recordings on my dvr it took all of 10mins, I know its horrible and i was out of breath for a short while but I found the strength to go on. Yes, TW has known about this issue. Is it a major problem for the "Masses"? not really. I have spoken to friends, family and neighbors and they don't consider it to be a big problem.. When we call customer service they are always kind and curtious to us, and when something like this goes wrong they have given us credit for the issue's and we are all aware that its something that won't be fixed right away............... Patience gentleman I know its stretch.
I called TW just the other day to make a payment and the gentleman I spoke with took care me, during our conversation he say's I notice you have 2 dvr's and told me about the concern of the daylight savings bug with the Dvr's, which i was very appreciative of. He also told me they have been trying to work with Scientific Atlanta to get a fix on this for a while now. I comeneded him on his customer service and they are alway's great to work with.
Enough rants about daylight savings guy's lets just some it up Dvr w/Tw is good, TiVo is the "Ferrari" of Digital Video Recording services. To each there own,...........Next topic
Let's see: $10/month for the DVR (yes, I'm rounding up). 3 years cost: $360.00
You have two of them, so that's $720 for 3 years.
It can't do season passes (basically it's even worse than a standard VCR because at least most VCR's I've seen get their time from the cable and can adjust for Daylight Savings).
Two Tivo's at $40 each plus $20/month for service (first at $14.95/month and 2nd unit at 6.95/month). Over 3 years, about the same cost $80 more.
Granted, no dual tuners (yes, big drawback). But name me one other DVR that can't handle Daylight Savings, other than TW DVR.
