Remaining bug: If you add a second HD you can't record a program that is already in progress.

Got 1.89.17.1 yesterday. Seems like the problem of HD showing at 480 on start up has been fixed.

Posted at the AVS Forum by DoubleDAZ:1.89.x.x - New FeaturesNOTE: Some of these may or may not be applicable to your particular cableco. * Second line of text now includes the show's rating - or at least it usually does. * Categories (Talk Shows, Sci-Fi) are now shown in the description details of each show. * Recording future-dated episodes provides options for those wanting to record episodes other than First Run, but not all rerun episodes: On this channel this day in this time slot On this channel at any time On this channel any day in this time slot * Program description is now available with the info button while you are watching a recorded program instead of only showing the Playback channel. * If you block a rating, lets say PG-13, then all references anywhere in the system to any program with a PG-13 rating says "Title Blocked" until you enter the four digit code to unlock the system. * DAY UP and DAY DOWN buttons on the remote control (if you have them) are fully operational. * If you enter a channel number that doesn't exist, rather than flashing in the channel number field and then doing nothing, it instead switches to the next channel above the channel you requested. NOTE: I have never seen a with any version that I've used, even before the 8300. Mine has always gone to the next channel and it is a handy "feature". However, others with 1.88.x.x report that they do, so this seems to be cableco specific somehow, though I can't imagine why. 1.89.x.x - Bugs Remaining (Not all-inclusive)* When switching from live TV to a previously recorded program, the channel indicator does not change to the Playback channel number. It remains where it was before switching. This might cause some confusion. * Issue not resolved (same as before): When you are in FF mode and hit Instant Replay, then hit FF again, you go to the next higher FF step instead of FF1. When you are in the top step FF and hit Instant Replay, then hit FF again, you go to Play instead of FF1. * Surfing through the IPG (right arrow for example) is slower than before.

Apparently we don't get "first run" information here at TW Albany. We're still stuck with the "season pass" that records all the reruns.

I have 1.09.5a101 on a new box that I got in exchange for one that worked fine for 2 years The diagnostics screen is now up to 55 pages due to CableCard. I'm a bit puzzled with the navigation. Multiple taps on FWD or REW go all the way to the beginning or the end, unlike the 1.89 versions. Anybody else having this problem? I've also noticed a lot of spontaneous reboots and signals so weak that my projector (component cable hook-up) sometimes can't even find the signal

Maybe it has Navigator software instead of SARA?

It's definitely not Navigator; it's SARA.
Also, the box is the new 8300HDC, with the cable card in the back.

Just a random check of the Diagnostic Menu revealed that my 8300HD DVR is running SARA version 1.89.24.1. The date listed is 10/31/07.

I think a mod can delete this thread now - SARA is dead and buried.

Really? I mean SARA dead and buried?
Did TW switch to the Pioneer software instead?

Time Warner is using their own in house developed software. They have been working on it for seven years and it's still glitchy!

hmm, just thought it was odd, since the software on the cable cards is SARA. Not sure about their converter boxes/DVR since I don't have one.
