I see probably about 4-5 other people on the AVS forums have audio sync problems with their SA8000HD units.
Anyone else having this problem?
I am and it's horrible. Last night, the Apprentice was almost unwatchable because the audio was out of sync by at LEAST 1 second.
Seems particularly bad on NBC (WNYT) although I've gotten it on HBO during Six Feet Under as well.
Seems to have cropped up after the last SARA software update.
I know it's not the receiver, because DVD's and OTA play fine (no sync problems).
I tried watching the various HD channels this afternoon and did not notice any sync problems. Granted, most of the daytime shows are NOT in DD either. (although some like HBO, SHO, DSCHD, are).
But tonight when primetime kicked in, sure enough, there comes the sync problem again.
Very frustrating.

Well, the sync problems have mostly resolved themselvs after the TW update that turned off the "auto sleep" feature of the DVR.
however, many others in the AVS forums have this problem with the 8000HD units regardless of whether they're using Passport (Pioneer) or SARA software. Supposedly TW has actually moved a Scientific Atlanta technician to one of their sites to try to work on getting the problem fixed.

...audio sync problems with their SA8000HD units. ...the audio was out of sync by at LEAST 1 second. Bring the 8000HD DVR into the Time Warner office and ask to exchange it for the 8300 DVR. Same SARA software, but I haven't had the audio sync problems I had with the 8000. You can read up on the 8300 here.

I have noticed lip-sync issues, but only when viewing Jay leno or other WNYT programming over TW cable SA8000HD. I DON'T see it on upconverted materal like commercials, just HD materal.

Snowmoon,
that was pretty much my observation. never on SD, only on HD. REALLY bad on WNYT but also had it happen on HBO, especially during Six Feet Under.
