Can't wait for baseball season to start (big time Yankee fan)! Over at the AVS Forum they list their HDTV Programming Synopsis and it says:
YES - New York - broadcasting 1080i The latest rumor is that YES network will offer MLB New York Yankees home games in HDTV, begininng in April 2004. No known carriers as yet.
If TWC could get this I would die! Yankee home games in HD, it would put all my other HD channels to shame!

I agree....Jeter & A-rod in HD...
During the summer months I usually hang by the pool and listen to the games...if they were in HD, I would buy a HDTV for the poolhouse!

I'm definitely not going to get into an anti-Yankee tirade (I know I'll be severely outnumbered), but that'll definitely be worth watching if they get the games in HD. At least when my team comes to town.

Why not send an email to Albany TWC VP Peter Taubkin and request that they add YES HD? His email address is: peter.taubkin@twcable.comMight as well tell him you want ESPN HD, too.

I'm gonna send an email. Right now I'm watching game 7 of the 03' ALCS on YES.
I wonder if INHD will have any Yankee games or will they be blacked out. I hear that INHD will carry 3 MLB games per week which is cool.

Here it is, the reply I got from Mr. Taubkin of TWC regarding ESPN-HD & YES-HD
Thanks very much for taking the time to contact me...and, of course, for the kind comments. Very much appreciated. As for ESPN HD, the issue is largely one of cost. We certainly hope to offer it and are very much aware of the interest. We do, however, currently pay significant licensing fees to ESPN for the programming we receive from them now (ie: ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, etc). Thus, our ability to offer ESPN HD is linked to its being made available to at a rate that is reasonable and which would not have us pay an unreasonable rate for programming we already receive in another format. Ultimately, it is such rates that make up in large part the rate we charge customers. That said, we're making every effort to offer the product and, again, hope to do so. As for YES, I can't say I'm aware of similar current discussions specific to YES HD..but can be confident the issues would be the same. Should I hear more, I'll be happy to pass that on. I also welcome you to stay in touch. In addition, if you're not already receiving it, I'll have you put on our HD online newsletter which would be a good source for any future announcements on HD programming. From all of us at TWC, thanks for checking in. We are grateful for your support and loyalty. -----Original Message-----

I asked TWC VP Taubkin if YES HD was available and if they are pursuing it:
-----Original Message----- From: Taubkin, Pete [mailto:peter.taubkin@twcable.com] Sent: Friday, April 16, 2004 8:46 AM To: mpyskadlo@albanyhdtv.com Subject: RE: Yankees on INHD
Sorry again for the delay. Been out of the office...again. As for YES HD...yes it does exist. My last information on it is that there are issues surrounding the availability of the signal to us here in this market...ie: it has yet to be determined whether or not/how YES could transport the signal to us. I will follow up and pass on any new information that I may learn. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Pyskadlo [mailto:mpyskadlo@albanyhdtv.com] Sent: Thu 4/8/2004 12:34 AM To: Taubkin, Pete Cc: Subject: RE: Yankees on INHD
Can you shed any light whether YES-HD even exists and if TWC is discussing possibly carrying this channel? Thanks again for your response. --Mark
