Watching TV on your computer moniter is like eating at mcdonalds. Your belly is full but somehow you're not satisfied. TV and movies were meant to be seen larger than life. Watching for anything other than news on a set smaller than 42" is for feeders and philistines

Soon enough, all shows and channels will look like a partitioned FoxNews screen, with the show in the upper corner and commercials 24/7. The actual show will be looked at by network execs as some irritant that interferes with a potential revenue stream. I hardly watch network tv anymore, mainly because little appeals to me (41 yr old professional white male- not the target demo apparantly) and the little I do watch, is less entertaining than I'd like. Movie channels, SPorts, and DVD. That's it for me. And it's enough actually.

Honestly Satalite is only a viable choice when you: 1) Live in a a area where cable is unavailable 2) Have a cable company that really sucks. TW in the capital district is really pretty good.
If I had a camp or vacation home, I'd have a satalite system. But otherwise cable is simpler and less problem prone.

Many people miss the point. Going to watch a movie in a theater is a crappy experience. Crackly sound, out of focus, stained screens, homeys on cell phones, $10 cold stale popcorn. It sucks. My home system is way better on everything but screen size (60" 16x9 HD properly calibrated) and it's simply a better , more immersive experience watching without all the distractions. I still go to kids movies in the theater with my son, but more so he can expereince the joy before he grwos up realizes that there are better ways to see it. Bob

Was it just me, or did the game look terrible? Blurry, seemingly digitally "smoothed", and weird colors. Also, much trailing on movement. I switched over to the other HD channels and didn't see that effect, and the images were way better and more realisitic. Did anyone else see that?

Before getting a large roof antenna, does anyone in near proximity to Hudson Valley Community College get WRGB OTA? I don't mind the small cost and big pain of installing one, just so I was assured of getting some reception. I haven't had an antenna in 20 years, and remember it being sketchy at best. I live on a hill, near Gardner thingyenson school, for those familiar with the area. Anyone have a thought on whether I'll get the signal or not? Bob
