I can't agree more with you Skaggs, that Fox 23 picture is so terrible, all my other SD channels look like HD compared to that one.

It's nice to see YES adding more away games in HD. Maybe next season they will offer all games in HD like NESN did this year with the Red Sox.

TWC needs to get ch.1800 up and goin'. I can't believe the crap they put on there. The Ring Two has been playing forever. Why can't they get 5 or so good HD movies on there. I would love to see something like this:
War Of The Worlds Batman Forever Sin City Star Wars Episode III

Yankees are AL East Champs for the 8th year in a row. Very sweet! My friends and I loved seeing A-Rod & Jeter celebrate on the field at Fenway. Regarding the last 4 games that YES showed in HD, do you think that next season we will get road games from YES in HD? I know Boston's NESN only showed home games in HD their first year but now show away games also in HD.

YES is showing these games in our area. At least my TWC guide shows it and since it's a road game no HD. ESPN-HD will just show an another game or the famous blank screen like INHD.
Just looked at TWC website which has the Yankees schedule, yep, YES is covering all three games with Texas. Maybe next year YES will cover all road games in HD.

I noticed it too with the Ump calling strike. Nice win though!

The game tonight on YES is HD, one of the few road games we get in HD.

What a great trailer. I'm glad WNYT didn't forget to flip the switch on that one. Excellant 5.1 sound too!

I just recorded some test patterns Tuesday morning from HDnet onto my DVR. Looks like I'll add INHD's too.

WTEN has some audio issues again. Watched the Address on WNYT-DT. WXXA-DT (FOX) looked like 480i widescreen.

Looks like it was a 4:3 HD transfer. Picture quality was greatly improved from what my wife and I remember.

That's what I was thinking, infact now I recall TNT showing the new Technicolor print of Gone With The Wind last year or the year before when it got re-released in theaters. It was HD and I believe it was 4:3 (In film terms it was 1.33:1). We'll have to wait and see Wednesday night.

Remember that this was originally filmed in the 4:3 aspect ratio. To do a true HD transfer they would have to zoom in on the 4:3 image, cropping the top and bottom of the image. To me that doesn't make much sense. I'm all for re-mastering old films and TV movies but I'm a believer in original aspect ratio, if it's 4:3 leave it.
