Time Warner to Add TBS HD
Winston-Salem, NC residents notified of the addition.
September 20, 2007
By Phillip Swann, tvpredictions.com
Time Warner Cable has notified HD subscribers in at least one market that it will add TBS HD on October 1.
The channel will carry first and second round action in this year's Major League Baseball playoffs.
Time Warner has alerted customers in the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area that TBS HD will be added on October 1 in time for the playoffs.
The cable operator has not said where else the channel will be added. Normally, Time Warner negotiates the national rights to carry a channel and then allows for the local TW system to decide when and how to carry it.
Time Warner has also told customers in the Northwest part of North Carolina area that several other HD channels will be added on October 15:
A&E HD MTV HD History Channel HD CNN HD Lifetime Movies HD Food Network HD Golf Channel/Versus HD Universal HD
CNN HD, The History Channel HD and Lifetime Movies HD appear to be additions to most existing Time Warner HD lineups.
However, again, it's unclear if and when other Time Warner markets will get those new HD channels.

Time Warner: TBS HD For 6 More Cities
The channel will air this year's baseball playoffs.
September 20, 2007
By Phillip Swann, tvpredictions.com Time Warner today said TBS HD will be added to at least six more markets by October.
TVPredictions.com reported this morning that Time Warner subscribers in the Winston Salem, North Carolina area would get TBS HD on October 1.
Mark Harrad, a Time Warner spokesman, told TVPredictions.com this afternoon that the channel has already been been added in TW markets Austin, Texas and Waco, Texas.
He added that it will be added next month in Columbia, South Carolina, San Antonio, Albany, New York and Portland, Maine.
TBS HD is eagerly awaited by sports fans because the channel will carry first and second round action in this year's Major League Baseball playoffs.
Harrad said he did not know of other Time Warner markets where TBS HD will be added. Normally, Time Warner negotiates the national rights to carry a channel and then allows for the local TW system to decide when and how to carry it.
Time Warner has also told its customers in the Winston-Salem area that several other HD channels will be added on October 15, including CNN HD.
But Harrad said he could not confirm the CNN HD addition.

In the September 28, 2007 email from Albany Time Warner Cable:
The Major League Baseball playoffs step to the plate next week, and TBS is the new home for the first round, also known as the Divisional Series. TBS will also televise the National League Championship Series. Fox and Fox HD (ch. 1808) will show the American League Championship Series and the World Series.
Time Warner Cable has exciting news because we have added TBS HD (channel 1805) just in time for the games. You can also watch TBS on digital cable channel 405. ( Check your local lineup for TBS channel assignment on the standard level.)
The playoffs are scheduled to start Wednesday. Of course, there could be a bunch of tie-breakers in the National League on Monday and Tuesday ...
Tune to digital cable channel 1 for the daily TV schedule or look at the schedule online.

Noticed a problem with my Sony DVR w/cable card:
1. No channel displayed on 1805 2. TBS HD on channel 1869 (ESPN HD's location) 3. No ESPN2 on 1870 (ESPN2 HD's location)
Anyone else?

I called Albany TWC and they scheduled a tech to come to my house on Tuesday to fix the cable card - TBS HD - ESPN HD problem. They said they couldn't fix the problem from the office.

While I was on the phone with TWC, I asked about their 1 year of Cinemax for free offer. See this thread for more info. Anyway, she ended up giving me the Cinemax for free and when she sent the signal to my house, it cleared up the TBS HD - ESPN HD issue. Go figure.

Sorry I wasn't clearer - yes, with a cable card. 2 days ago I could not get 1805 on the Sony HDD-500 but I could get it on my TiVo series 3 HD with 2 cable cards. Yesterday I started to get it on the Sony.

I can receive TBSHD on my S3 by entering 1805 using the remote control, but it still does not appear in the Guide.
