It is certainly possible. I only use two speakers but I did remember thinking to myself that the sound was a little muffled last night.

I wasn't able to watch Friday's game live, but when I watched the first inning via my TiVo today, there was no 5.1 sound. Only 2 channels. It's 2-channel analog with extremely low output. How did they manage that? ?

I just wanted to say thank you to WNYA for giving all of us that can't stand Michael Kay an hour without him yesterday. For the first hour on the HD feed, there were only crowd and game noises, no announcers. It was heaven.

That was apparently not a local issue. Im not sure if it happened on MY9, but it definitely happened on all the stations that carry the Yankees OTA games other than MY9.

I figured it wasn't a local issue when it took so long to fix. I figure the local techs would be much more on top of something like that if it were a local issue. Also, the SD feed was fine in terms of sound.

I don't know if MY4 passes through the surround sound(as I dont have a system) but if they do, and you have a 5.1 system, just unplug(or mute) the center channel, an voila, no announcers. That also assumes they proper mix the channels.

I would take 3 hours of Kay and Leiter over 5 minutes of Sterling and Waldman! But I did enjoy the "background" Stadium noise; it was kind of like being at the game, but without the $9.25 beers.

Why no HD last night?
So disappointing to have to watch in SD.
Mussina pitched great...again. No run support.

Why no HD last night? So disappointing to have to watch in SD. Mussina pitched great...again. No run support. WNYA actually ran a few scrolls across the bottom of the screen saying the Yankees weren't passing them the HD signal. They didn't say exactly what it was, but they definitely blamed the Yankees. On the plus side, the scroll was full screen on the HD channel, meaning they can stay HD during weather Alerts unlike our NBC, FOX, and ABC.

I can't speak for FOX and ABC since I rarely watch them but WNYT NBC is now capable of scrolling weather alerts without losing HD. I saw it earlier this week when there was severe weather around. They even have a little box on the bottom left above the crawl that shows the radar and a visual representation of the warnings. I could only see about 75% of that box though due to overscanning on my DLP TV.

I'm wondering if ABC is now(I haven't checked in a few months) since they can do syndication in HD. I would imagine there's at least some overlap in equipment there. Edit: Guess we were getting off topic. Back on topic, I am wondering if My9 is having the same problem they had on Tuesday when we didn't get audio and they haven't gotten it fixed yet.

Last night's game on MyTV4 was in HD. Too bad it was a blowout by the Pirates.

According to My4 today's Yankees-Mets game at 2pm will not be in High Definition due to the NY Yankees, once again.
