I've casually noticed over the past month or so that my RR has been faster. I just pay for the regular ole road runner, not turbo, no bells and whistles, and to the last of my recollection I could get 10Mb down and 1Mb up, which was fast enough for what I do. Yesterday I decided to check again and I'm pulling 20Mb down and 1Mb up. I checked my bill and they didn't switch me to turbo or anything. Are others experiencing this as well, or should I just consider myself lucky?

I would love for tivo to implement an option for virtual channels, or channel remapping, however you want to look at it. You order the channels the way you want, and tivo does the work in the background making it happen.
If this were available I'd just replace all the SD equivalents in the 1-100ish range with their HD counterparts so I don't need to go back in forth between SD and HD channels.. seems like such a dumb setup to me.

cool.. I just moved and I got a letter from twc saying my rate was going up due to the fact I was on a promotional rate, and I could sign a contract for less than they will charge me if I don't. I'm conflicted because I don't want to sign a contract and have fios available a few months afterwards.

My wife and I are moving from our Apt in Guilderland to a house we are buying in Colonie. Am I going to get to keep and move all my equipment (cable modem, cable box, tuning adapter, cable card), or am I going to have to bring it all back in, and then wait for a tech to come back out and set it all up again once we're moved in. I'd rather move it myself as it'll get done quicker, the cable card is already configured with the tivo, and I would think they'd prefer that also since it would create more work for them.
Anyone have any experience with moving and TWC?

We were going down 787 south today and we saw them filming a scene on the side road where it was either jolie or her stunt double was on top of a tanker truck.. didn't look like they were going fast, but they were moving. Also I saw a couple direct tv trucks and had a chuckle to myself

This reminds me of an article I read a year ago.. where people couldn't tell the difference between a monster cable, and a coat hanger. Monster Cables are by far the biggest rip off you find in an a/v department.. I feel so sorry for people when I'm in Best Buy looking at something and I overhear a salesman trying to sell monster products to people that really have no clue. Anywho, here's the article: www.engadget.com/2008/03/03/audiophiles-cant-tell-the-difference-between-monster-cable-and/

stopthecap.com/At least the congressman in Rochester is standing up for his constituents.. all we can really hope is that the media starts giving this more and more attention and it becomes a PR nightmare for TWC.
