I read that BBC America HD is next on Verizon's list. Now I will push for Verizon to add CNN Headline News HD.

A major chain has just read the riot act to its suppliers. Next year all hardware with HDMI must have a certificate of compatibility from HDMI, LLC or it will not be stocked. This should have been done three years ago.
I believe TW has a software issue that it will have to resolve. Till then TW tells us that while it offeres DVI and HDMI it does not support those outputs and only supports component , S-Video and composite at this time. It worked to perfection with my new Sony. The non-DVR model had a brief handshake issue but after a brief time it would work with that set also.

I have a Motorola Receiver with a built in digital cable tuner. TW will not activate the unit. :'(Is there anyway to use this tuner on basic digital channels?
Is there any non-cablecard tuner that TW will work with to permit the reception of our local digital channels?

Remaining bug: If you add a second HD you can't record a program that is already in progress.

I got the 8300HD and it worked to perfection using HDMI. Has anyone tried displaying their video camcorder output throught the iLink/Firewire input on these boxes? I'll give it a try tonight.

After I got back to the office with the 8000HD I called TW. They told me that they were not happy to hear that the people at their Washington Ave Office were giving out misinformation. The 8300HD is still current. They are holding an 8300HD for me and I can swap it out. Again, the noted that they do not guarantee HDMI or DVI connections but you can try it. They do guarantee their box will work with analog component connections.

Just switched to DVR today and swapped out my HD box at TW. They told me the 8300HD has been discontinued since we don't need HDMI and they handed me an 8000HD. There you have it.

With this chain you had better do your homework before you plop down your money. They often display phoney prices and their discounts are thus a fraud. This is one major reason they are forced to close down many of their stores. They once sold me an audio player promoted as 1/2 off when it was in fact being sold at the current Sony list price. I feel for the workers but don't feel the store contributed anything to our market because of their practices.
