Saw a crawl at the bottom of the screen every time they came back from commercial during American Idol on Wednesday night. The crawl announced they would be turning off their analog transmitter on Feb 17th. During this crawl, the video was SD and there was only 2 channel sound.
They also had a commercial where they showed the announcement on the entire screen and a voice-over announcer read the text.
Most of the Albany stations appear to be continuing on until June 12th with the exception of WXXA which will cease analog transmission after the 17th of Feb.
I am anticipating switching our channel 38 transmitter on Mt Greylock to digital operation as soon as it is practical to get to the site and make the changes. I'll try to give you a heads up when that occurs, but in case I am not able, if you notice that 38 analog has disappeared, look for it on digital. It will also ID as 13, so you'll end up with two each of 13-1, -2, & -3.
