This is not the first time I've heard people at TW Albany customer support say that Big 10 HD is on 1878. It's just flat out not true. The channel is not listed on the guide and is not available. The SD version is available, but not the HD version.
More and more networks are going HD and Time Warner is insanely slow to add anything new. I have a feeling we'll be stagnant for a while. Based on the number of times I get "Channel Not Available" on SDV channels (my signal strength is around -2 db always displayed on the cable box), I'd guess they're having trouble with the current SDV lineup and probably can't handle adding more HD channels to their limited bandwidth.

Thank you for contacting Time Warner Cable Email Support.
I understand that you would like to know what channels would come this year on HD.
I will be happy to provide you with the information. |

Last Saturday, I watched the Penn State vs. Syracuse football game is SD on Big Ten Network. I was surprised at what poor picture quality was being shown. There was macroblocking and audio dropouts.
I kept wondering to myself if this was what TV was like before the invention of HD. I think the SD picture available now is much worse than the SD picture we were all watching in the 1990's and early 2000's.

They kept telling me to check their programing link which lists BigTenHD on 1878 Tennis on 1868 not 1879 Crime and Investigation 1828 and they also still list the HD nets as being avaliable
I was also told that they will have someone phone me to tal about the issue.

Indeed he was. All 6 channels are listed in the guide and all tune except for USAHD which I assume is just a temporary glitch...

Here's a summary of the new channels added this morning: 1750 Fox News HD 1759 Bravo HD 1762 E! HD 1824 Crime & Investigation HD 1828 USA HD 1830 SyFy HD
Also, 1812 is a mirror of 1800 HD Movies on Demand, also listed as iCL36

I've already contacted them with the lineup change. Got back the standard form letter and case ID that they'd solve it in the next 7 days. We'll see....
